"Professional Support Service to Parents": On-site Professional Support Service
Service Brief:
To provide professional support services for parents of pre-school children who are wait-listed pre-school rehabilitation services, assessment or suspected with developmental delay to achieve the rationales of early identification and intervention; and to enhance parents’ strengths in meeting the developmental needs of their children.
- Early Identification and Intervention:To provide information about children with developmental delay; equip parents’ knowledge and skills on rehabilitation; and utilize relevant community resources for enhancing the inner potential growth of their children.
- Collaboration with Parents by Walking Together:Through the collaboration with Parents’ Resource Centers and related parents’ associations, the Center commits to strengthen parents’ confidence in parenting and build up their positive value on nurturance by providing genuine professional support service.
- On-site Professional Support Service
Our multi-disciplinary professional team visits Parents’ Resource Centers and related parents’ associations regularly to identify the service needs of parents in the district, from which learning-oriented parent-child training groups / programs; as well as parents-oriented groups / workshops / talks / programs, etc are implemented for addressing the needs and concerns of parents.

Parents grasp the communication skills from the theme of story-telling to enhance children’s speech and communication development.
Parents acquire methods from joining training program with their children to enhance the learning motivation and self-autonomy of their children.
Parents support, exchange and share their experience on facilitating children’s development and nurturance skills on positive parenting with each other.
Parents of pre-school children aged from birth to 6 years old, who are:
- on the waiting list of pre-school rehabilitation services (priority); or
- on the waiting list of assessment; or
- suspected with developmental delay.
- Registered Social Worker
- Speech Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Physiotherapist
- Senior Special Pre-school Teacher
Service Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Closed on Sunday and Public Holiday)
(Service hours are adjustable to service needs.)
Service Fee:
According to the policy of the Association.
Application Procedure:
Application can be made directly to the centre.
- Service recipients can request to discharge the service from the center based on individual reason.
- After completing the service, the service will be terminated automatically.
Enquiry:
Apart from providing On-site Professional Support Service, the Center also provides "Telephone Enquiry Service”(TES). For further enquiry of the details of the services, please contact the superintendent of the center.
