mµse casa Online Platform Kick-off Ceremony held successfully Special guest Shiga Lin paid a visit to support
The Association Adult Service held mµse casa Online Platform Kick-off Ceremony to celebrate the Association's 60th Anniversary on 27th and 28th May in Central Market. For this event, the Association invited artist Shiga Lin to collaborate with the trainees with disabilities and produced 20 limited sets of porcelain dishes put on sale. It received overwhelming response and all the dishes were sold out.
The officiating guests, Ms Jenny L. M. YAN, the then District Social Welfare Officer (Central Western/ Southern /Islands) of Social Welfare Department, Mrs. Josephine M. W. Tsui PANG, MH, Chairperson of the Association, Ms CHU Koh Ann, Chairperson of the Adult Service Management Committee, Mr. Benjamin K. M. WONG, Vice Chairperson of Adult Service Management Committee, together with special guest Shiga Lin, Artist and Mr. Eddie K.T. SUEN, Chief Executive Officer of the Association hosted the ceremony. And the Association has invited Ms Alyson K. M. HAU, a well-known radio DJ as the host of the event.
After the ceremony, all the guests visited the experience zone and workshop. They enjoyed painting the unglazed biscuit porcelain whale a lot. Shiga said she has experienced making ceramics before, and felt that it was not easy at all. She appreciated every piece of housewares made by the trainees. She also appealed to everyone to support mµse casa and give greater encouragement to the trainees. She even tried to make Saori with the trainees.
All products of mµse casa are made by the trainees of the Association's 6 Workshops and the Integrated Vocational Rehabilitation Service Centre. The two-day event includes product exhibitions, experience zones and workshops, hoping the public will know more about the working ability and artistic potential of persons with disabilities.
