55th Anniversary Celebration Series - Adapted Taekwondo Competition 2018
"Adapted Taekwondo Competition 2018” that was held at Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre in Hong Kong Baptist University on 2 December 2018 was one of
tthe Association’s 55th Anniversary celebration events. Apart from the Association, 6 other Non-Governmental Organizations participated in the event, including Caritas Hong Kong, Fu Hong Society, Po Leung Kuk, St James’ Settlement, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong.
Finally, Leung Kai Fung from Hong Kong Caritas Joyous Link won the Overall Champion of Preliminary level, while Chan Ka Ho and Au Yeung Chun Lung from the Association’s
Fu Tung Hostel and Training Centre gained the Overall Champion of Intermediate and Advanced Level respectively. For
team event, the Association’s On Ting Workshop have grasped the champion!
The competition and activity were splendid, including individual race, team race, relay race
and social inclusion performance. It was the first time to have Preliminary, Intermediate and Advanced Level overall champion for participants to compete. The Association’s trainees, students from the Hong Kong Baptist University and children from the Association’s Shek Wai Kok Parents’ Resource Centre delivered a Taekwondo performance together to show the message of social integration.
We were
honoured to invite Mr. Kok Che Leung, Assistant Director of
Social Welfare Department (Rehabilitation and Medical Social Services); Professor Roland T. H. Chin, President of the Hong Kong Baptist University; Mr. Peter Lui, representative of Lui Family Providence Foundation; Mr. William Wong, Grand Master of Eastern Dragon Taekwondo Federation Hong Kong and Mrs. Josephine M. W. Tsui Pang, the Chairperson of SAHK, to be the officiating guests and present the awards to the winners with outstanding performance. The Association would like to express the heartfelt gratitude to the Lui Family Providence Foundation for the generous sponsorship and congratulate all the awarded units and trainees!
Au Yeung Chun Lung, the Overall Champion of Advanced Level was performing well in the competition.
Mr. Kok Che Leung, Assistant Director of Social Welfare Department (Rehabilitation and Medical Social Services), presented the award to Au Yeung Chun Lung, the Overall Champion of Advanced Level.
The team of the Association’s On Ting Workshop was the champion of the team tournament.
