United as One, Shaoguan Connecting Hearts
Earlier, the Labour and Welfare Bureau, the Social Welfare Department, and the Connecting Hearts co-organised a large-scale event — "香港萬千社工看祖國『心連心』韶關交流團” (Chinese Only). The initiative received enthusiastic support from the sectors including representatives from the Association, a total of 300 Hong Kong social workers joined the three-day field visit to Shaoguan. The exchange itinerary covered a wide range of areas, including elderly care services, special education, community governance, and data centre development, allowing participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the region’s social service development.
The event provided a valuable platform for learning and professional exchange, helping participants broaden their understanding of the Mainland’s social and welfare development. The Association has established a dedicated Mainland development team, which aims to use this opportunity to introduce our services to Mainland institutions and foster stronger, two-way collaboration between social welfare professionals from both regions. This ongoing exchange will continue to expand horizons and deepen understanding of the nation’s development.
