Service users of the Association participated in the Diversity and Inclusion Arts Festival

The Diversity and Inclusion Arts Festival (the Festival) organised by the Labour and Welfare Bureau in collaboration with the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, and supported by various government departments and social welfare organisations, was held at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District from 22 March 2025 to 5 April 2025. The event aimed to showcase the exceptional artistic talents of people with disabilities, promote their development in the arts and other fields, enhance public awareness of their diverse abilities, and inject positive energy into society through care and inclusion.

The Echo Bridge: Art Exhibition was one of the series in the tour, focusing on the vocational abilities of people with disabilities and an inclusive workplace. The "Echo" in Echo Bridge symbolizes the convergence of diverse voices, representing how different perspectives can collide, interact, and resonate within the same space. Through artistic creation, the exhibition fully showcased the multifaceted talents of people with disabilities. The voices of various artists and audiences intertwined, embodying the core values of listening to each other and responding together.

In the exhibition theme People with Disabilities in the Workplace (工作中的殘疾人士), the Association’s service user WONG Wing Hong and KWOK Kai Yip from the Association’s Wo Che Workshop participated with their paintings Single-Handed Wood Polishing (單手磨木) and Workshop - The Weaver (工場 - 織男) respectively. Their vivid and uniquely styled artwork depicted the real-life work environment of the trainees, making it easier for visitors to understand and engage with the subject matter. This approach encouraged deeper interest in further understanding of life in sheltered workshops while embodying the inclusive spirit of listening to each other and responding together. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare served as the officiating guest. Ms Edith S. K. HUNG, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Association; Ms Winnie L. L. HUI, Head of Adult Service of the Association; and Mr. Gen C. S. CHAN, Deputy Head of Adult Service of the Association attended the ceremony to show our support.
