Representing Special Olympics Hong Kong at Berlin, Cheung Yee Hang achieved a gold and a silver medal
Congratulations to Ms Cheung Yee Hang, Shek Wai Kok Parents Resource Centre! Using her conviction and strength, she managed to achieve a gold medal in women’s bowling doubles and a silver medal in women’s bowling single in the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Berlin, Germany in June.
Yee Hang, aged 22, started participating in a bowling class co-organised by Shek Wai Kok Parents Resource Centre and Hong Kong Sports Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability in 6 years ago. After being selected and recommended by the Center, she received formal bowling training. After just 2 years, she made her bowling debut at the age of 18 at the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. During her debut competing with other top athletes in the world, she has already achieved a silver medal in women’s bowling doubles. This year she has soared to new heights, achieving a gold medal and a silver medal.
